Former Cheltenham winning jockey Nina Carberry has thrown her hat in the ring to become a member of the European Parliament.
The 39 year old is seeking nomination to run as a Fine Gael candidate in the Midlands North West constituency.
A previous winner of Dancing with the Stars, Nina is looking to join Mayo MEP Maria Walsh on the ticket for the European Elections.
She is a native of Meath, and her family are steeped in Irish sport as her husband Ted Walsh Junior is a son of famous racing pundit and trainer Ted, brother to former champion jockey Ruby and female jockey Katie.
