Former Fine Gael TD John Connor will be laid to rest this morning, (Thursday), in his native Frenchpark.
Mr Connor of Cloonshanville, Frenchpark, died at the weekend following a single vehicle road collision close to Frenchpark.
He had served as a TD, senator and councillor in county Roscommon, in a political career that spanned 25 years.
Following Mass of the Resurrection at St Asicus Church Frencpark at 11.30am this morning he will be laid to rest in Cloonshanville cemetery.
