A three vehicle collision occurred this afternoon on the N17 outside Killkelly.
A number of people sustained injuries and were taken from the scene to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar.
The collision occurred just after 3pm, at Cloonturk, between Kilkelly and the turn off for Kiltimagh.
Gardai say the road is passable, but drivers are advised to approach the area with due caution this evening.
The crashed vehicles are expected to be cleared with the next hour, approx 6pm.
