The Department of Media has launched a public consultation over the future of free-to-air events on television.

A review into the events which should be on terrestrial television started in November 2020 - with the last review completed seven years ago.

Among the events already on the list include All-Ireland Championship finals and Ireland's games in both the women's and men's Six Nations.

Last year, there was huge controversy surrounding GAA GO after a number of high profile intercounty games were aired behind a pay wall, with the same to happen again this summer.
