Gardai have detected 50 vehicles breaking the speed limit in the first 2 hours of a major clampdown this morning.
Over 15,700 vehicles have been checked as part of National Slow Down Day, which runs until 7 o'clock tomorrow morning.
Among those speeding was a motorist driving at 128km per hour in a 100km Zone on the N60 Holywell Upper Ballyhaunis.
