A new survey claims 63 per cent of people have 'no fears' or 'very few fears' about crime.
The Garda Public Attitudes Survey also claims 81 per cent of people say local crime is not a serious problem.
90 per cent of people trust the Gardai and say officers treat people with respect.
The survey was carried out in the second half of last year.
