Leitrim county council is urging the public to exercise caution over a potentially toxic algal bloom in the area
The authority has issued a public notice not to swim in a lake or drink water that contains algal blooms.
Animals should also be prevented from drinking it.
At this time of year an algal bloom or scum may appear on, or close to the shoreline of a lake.
The Council is warning that this bloom could be toxic.
