A Mayo Deputy says a plan needs to be put in place to help tackle the huge increase in financial fraud and scams across the country.
Figures released to Sinn Fein by the Department of Justice show increases of up to almost 600% since 2019.
Sinn Fein TD Rose Conway Walsh says taht while there is no evidence to link such increase to the Covid pandemic, but that people have become more reliant on using cards rather than cash.
The Deputy has also advised anyone who believes they have fallen victim to such fraud to contact their bank and the Gardaí.
