Action is now required and construction needs to get underway on the long promised flood relief scheme for Crossmolina. That’s the view of Ballina based Minister of State Dara Calleary, who raised it with Minister for Public Expenditure Paschal Donohoe earlier this week.
Minister Calleary says details of the planned flood relief scheme are with consultants for12 months now, and that’s it past time, for the consultants to come back with their conclusions to Minister Donohoe, as he says the local community cannot be left in constant fear of flooding into another winter.
