Mayo Count Council have presented Brendan Duffy, chairperson of Westport Men’s Shed with a certificate to mark his shortlisting in the Community Volunteer of the Year category at the recent All Ireland Community and Council Awards.
Brendan was presented with the certificate by Cathoirleach of Mayo County Council Cllr Seamus Weir.
The presentation took place at an event in the Westport Civic Offices.
Cathoirleach Weir complimented the Westport Men’s Shed on the work and contribution they make to the town of Westport, and praised the volunteer spirit that brings groups like the men’s shed together to make their communities better places to live and visit for all.
