Later today, Former Irish rugby international Rory Best is due to arrive at the site for Daisy lodge house in Cong, which, when constructed will be a therapeutic short break centre for children with cancer and their families.
It's part of the campaign called 'Rory's Miles for Mayo'.
Rory began his journey 10 days ago, when he departed the Aviva stadium in Dublin and has since clocked up almost 300km across the country on his journey to Cong, passing through 8 counties.
The aim of the campaign is to raise much needed funds to construct Daisy lodge so families will have a safe place to stay when they decide to take a short break, knowing their children's needs will also be catered for.
This isn't the first time Rory Best has undertaken a long distance trek.
In 2021, he walked from the other Daisy lodge site in Newcastle Co Down to the site of Daisy Lodge in Cong, and in doing so, raised 1 million euro's for Cancer Fund for Children, who are responsible for Daisy Lodge.
Rory Best has been speaking to Midwest Radio's Alannah Nolan about the crowd that is expected in the village this afternoon....
