There are calls for a new pedestrian foot bridge to be installed in Westport.
This proposal was made by Independent Councillor Christy Hyland at a recent meeting of the West Mayo Municipal District.
Cllr Hyland says the proposed bridge would be at the back of Altamount Street across the river which would bring people in to Knockranny woods.
He says it would be a huge addition to the town and believes it would not be an expensive project.
Cllr. Hyland has being giving more details to Midwest Radio’s Michael D. McAndrew.
