A Sligo councillor has called for an update for the co-location of a new garda and fire station on a state owned site in the town.
Councillor Marie Casserly says the current garda station in Sligo is not fit for purpose and is, for the most part, inaccessible for anyone in a wheelchair.
She also says that pumping money into a station that will ultimately have to be closed is foolish and money would be better spent constructing a state of the art facility.
