The dismissal of 'wonky' fruit and veg from supermarket shelves is driving up food prices, according to the Irish Farmers' Association.

The IFA says having workers sort through 'wonky' veg drives up input costs, and adds to food waste.

Vice-Chair of the Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Senator Tim Lombard, says retailers shouldn't be allowed to dismiss fruit and vegetables that doesn't meet cosmetic standards as the price of food continues to rise.
