There were success stories for businesses across the region at last night’s Irish Restaurant Awards.
Each category had a provincial and Dublin winner, as well as a national recipient.
Thomas Connolly’s Pub in Sligo won Pub of the Year on the national stage.
Blackrock Cottage in Galway was given the award for Best Newcomer in the country.
Regarding the Connacht awards, Eala Bhan in Sligo won Best Connacht Restaurant.
Barry Ralph of House of Plates in Castlebar won the Connacht award for Best Chef.
Elsewhere for Mayo winners, Clare Island Oven won Connacht’s Best Sustainable Practice Award.
The ceremony took place at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road in Dublin
