Amy Collins received a warm welcome when she was introduced as a solicitor today (Friday) in Ballina District Court.
A native of Glanmire, Co. Cork, she trained in criminal law in Dublin and joined Mayo legal firm, P.O’Connor & Son last January.
Introducing her to Judge Fiona Lydon , Pat O'Connor said Amy will be a very valuable addition to the legal fraternity in Co. Mayo.
Peter Flynn, solicitor, and Ailish McGuinness, court clerk, both wished Ms. Collins well, as did Sergeant John O'Reilly, speaking on behalf of An Garda Siochana.
Judge Lydon said: “It is great to hear that we have a new criminal law practitioner (in District No. 3).”
She added that Ms. Collins had joined one of the most successful and formidable law firms in the west of Ireland.
