Ballyhaunis teenager Neassa Ruane has been shortlisted for the final of the Night and Day song contest.
The fifteen year-old has been playing guitar for the last five years, and took to the streets busking last year on Galway’s Shop St. She has set her sights on making a career in the music industry and has already built up a wealth of experience with performances across Ireland and the UK.
The Junior Cert student hopes to record her first album after her exams this summer.
The overall winner of the contest will perform at this year's festival, alongside acts such as Mercury Rev, Pillow Queens and Hot House Flowers .
10 songs have been shortlisted and the overall winner will be announced in the coming weeks.
