Gates appear to have been erected along a section of the new Murrisk Greenway that runs from Croagh Patrick to Bertra beach.

Midwest News understands that the new gates with the direct message "no access" is forcing users of the walkway/ cycleway back on to the road.

We have contacted Mayo County Council today to ask for some clarification around this development and are awaiting a response.
