Women are being encouraged to look out for the signs of ovarian cancer.

It's the fourth leading cause of cancer death in women in Ireland, with about 400 diagnoses every year, and almost 300 deaths.

A new study - to mark World Ovarian Cancer Day - has found nearly eight in 10 women here are not confident they would notice a symptom of the disease.

Senior Research Fellow in Trinity College Dublin, Dr. Sharon O'Toole says there's no screening for ovarian cancer in Ireland at present.
