A failure by government has forced people with disabilities to spend an extra 9 thousand euro a year on transport.

That's the claim from the Regional Group of TDs, as it renews its call for the greater grants and supports for those with mobility.

It's re-introducing a motion to the Dáil today - first brought forward over a year ago - urging the government to finally fulfil its UN obligations on disability.

Roscommon Galway TD Denis Naughten says people with a disability should have the same access to transport as everyone else, and there shouldn't be an issue for them to try and get around.
