A Mayo TD has welcomed over €2.6 million for Mayo County Council for Housing Adaption Grants for older and disabled people.
Fine Gael deputy Michael Ring says the grant itself has increased year on year since 2014.
Grants of up to €30,000 are available to carry out necessary works to make a house more suitable for those with a disability while grants of up to €8,000 are available for elderly people to do same.
Grants of up to €6,000 are available for Mobility aids.
Deputy Ring says these grants will help keep people in their homes for longer.
