The eviction ban has been effective in reducing the flow of people into homelesness.
That's the view of Social Democrats TD Cian O'Callaghan who's calling for it to be extended after it expired at midnight.
He says the latest homeless figures which stablised in February at 11,742 - showed the eviction ban was working.
