Four in five restaurants will look to increase prices over the coming year to mitigate against rising costs.

A new survey has found that 67 per cent of restaurants fear they will have to close over the next 12 months as a result of staffing pressures and inflation.

A third of those surveyed reported an increase in energy bills of more than 100 per cent in the past six months.

Adrian Cummins, chief executive of the Restaurants Association of Ireland, says rising costs have put the sector under pressure.
