Tourism businesses outside the hotel sector face losing 1.1 billion euro in revenue this year, as a scarcity in accommodation reduces visitor numbers.
According to Failte Ireland, a third of all hotels in rural areas are now used as refugee accommodation, which is having a knock-on effect on the local economy.
