Detailed discussions between specialist Gardaí and the US Secret Service have been ongoing "for months" ahead of Joe Biden's visit to Ireland.
The Sunday Independent reports Garda sniper teams will be on rooftops anytime the US President enters a public place.
It adds public drain covers will be welded shut, divers will check all bodies of water, and the monitoring of dissident criminals is at a "heightened level."
An exact date for his visit has not yet been formally announced, but he's expected to arrive on April 17th.
