The price of homes rose by 6.1 per cent in the 12 months to January.
It represents a slowdown in the growth of residential property prices, after they went up by 7.7 per cent in the year to December, according to the CSO.
They rose by 4.3 per cent in Dublin, and 7.4 per cent outside the capital.
