There are calls for a position to be created within the Department of Health to lead a pharmaceutical care strategy.

It's claimed a Chief Pharmaceutical Officer role would give much needed guidance within the department.

The Irish Pharmacy Union made the call before the Oireachtas Health Committee this morning.
