The number of people in Ireland who were unable to heat their homes last year, more than doubled compared to 2021.
That's according to a new report released by St Vincent de Paul today.
The charity is calling on the government to take immediate action - including introducing a social energy tariff - targeted at households "on means tested social welfare payments".
It has also set out recommendations for the energy regulator - such as a new consumer protection strategy - increasing protection for the most vulnerable.
