A Sligo Leitrim TD has praised the announcement that more judges are to be appointed across the region,
Sinn Féin’s Martin Kenny says at the moment, many people are facing extremely long wait times when it comes to court dates.
In particular he says, issues arise when the court relates to domestic violence cases, specifically protection orders.
Deputy Kenny, who’s Sinn Féin’s party spokesperson on Justice, says the findings of a Judicial Planning Working Group had called for a significant increase in judges over the next five years.
