A Headford based councillor is advising the public to be on the alert, as bogus tradesmen were reported knocking at doors yesterday across north Galway.

Councillor Andrew Reddington says there were a number of reports to the gardai yesterday about men who arrived at the doors of numerous homes offering to tarmac driveways at a low price.

Their vehicle has since been traced to Limerick, but the councillor says these bogus tradesperson are still out there and the advice is not to engage with them, if they do call to your door.

He says in today’s world reputable trades persons are not driving door to door to offer their services, but rather use more efficient forms of advertising and selling.
