Women from Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal are being invited to a seminar to promote the needs for more women in politics in the North West.

The event, entitled ‘What Can You Do to See Her Elected for Local Elections 2024’, takes place on February 24 in the Central Hotel, Donegal Town and is being organised by 50/50 North West and See Her Elected.

The programme is being run by Longford Women’s Link which supports women in rural Ireland to become County Councilors and prepare for the 2024 Local Elections.

Among the guest speakers at the event will be former Tánaiste Mary Coughlan, former Director of Elections Dr Edel McSharry, and Senator Eileen Flynn who made history in becoming the first Traveller to serve in the Oireachtas.
