Ireland loses part of it's retail heritage this afternoon - with the closure of JJ Glynn's hardware shop in Westport, in County Mayo.

It's been serving the community for almost 100 years - but is closing it's shutters for good today - under the weight of Brexit, Covid, and online competition.

Owner Dave Ward took over for six weeks - twenty years ago.

He says Glynns has sold everything from guns to chamber pots and horse-drawn carriages..... and led the field in selling flat-pack haysheds long before Woodies and Ikea:
