Landowners stretching along the large area of Lough Conn are urged to check along the shores of the lake as the search for a missing Crossmolina man is continuing today.

Today is the 17th day of the extensive search that has been ongoing for 68 year old Seamus Cawley, since he left his home in his car - a silver Volkswagen Golf ,on Monday 16th January.

His car, registration number is 08-MO-11334, was last observed parked near to Knockadine Bridge on the N59, which is 3km outside of Crossmolina town.

Gardaí and Seamus’ family are concerned for his welfare

A multi-agency search operation concentrated along the river Deel, from Knockadine bridge out to Lough Conn has been underway for over two weeks now, involving a large number of local volunteers.

Seamus’ family are now appealing to landowners around the large area of Lough Conn to assist in checking the lakeshore in places like Gortnor Abbey, Enniscoe, Massbrook, Pontoon, Knockmore,  Rathduff to Cloghans

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was travelling along the N59 on Monday, 16th January between 10am -12.30pm and who may have information or dash cam footage, to come forward to them.
