A young woman who died in a road collision in Belmullet last Friday night will be laid to rest this afternoon.
22-year-old Lauren Padden died when the car she was driving left the road and collided with a ditch.
At this week’s monthly meeting of Mayo County Council and West Mayo Municipal Meeting tributes were paid to Lauren who was described as a young vibrant student teacher.
The whole community is devastated and sympathy was extended to her parents, siblings and entire family.
Mass for the Shanahee native will take place today at the Church of the Holy Family in Carne at 2pm.
Lauren will be laid to rest in Emybeg Cemetery.
