Consumers are being urged to shop around when it comes to energy prices.

That's the message from the Consumers Association of Ireland as households will have to wait a few months for electricity and gas costs to drop.

It comes after the Irish Independent reported wholesale gas costs are returning to pre-Ukraine war levels.

Consumers Association Chairman and Mayo Councillor Michael Kilcoyne says it's hard to know yet what will happen.
