Postal-voting could be expanded, under new reforms being considered by the Electoral Commission.
The terms and conditions of the new independent body were approved by ministers yesterday.
According to the Irish Examiner, the Electoral Commission will be lead by a senior judge.
Other ideas which will be considered within the commission, include the reduction of the voting age.
