Sheep farmers across the region will gather in Athlone this evening to discuss the collapse in lamb prices.
The farm organisation claims that finishers of store lambs have suffered severe financial losses over the last number of weeks due to the fall in prices.
IFA President Tim Cullinan will chair the meeting where speakers from the Meat Industry, Bord Bia and Teagasc will address the current market outlook and the immediate issues to include the new Sheep Welfare Scheme.
The meeting takes place this evening in the Radisson Hotel Athlone at 8pm sharp.
IFA are encouraging all sheep farmers to attend.
