Many children in Ireland are waiting 13 years to see a dentist.

That's the stark warning from the Regional Group of independent TDs.

It's bringing a motion before the Dáil later today, calling for the government to immediately reform the public dental system.

It says dentists have stopped taking on medical card holders, while many children are no longer receiving any dental checks in primary school.
