The body of a man was recovered at Bertra beach earlier today and the search that was underway for Westport man Martin Philips, missing since Sunday morning last, has been stood down.
His body has been removed to Mayo University Hospital for a post mortem examination.
Garda Superintendent Gabriel Moran this afternoon thanked all those involved in the search, for their assistance.
