Temperatures dropped to minus seven in parts this morning with Mount Dillon in Roscommon recording the lowest temperature in the country.
A Status yellow snow and ice warning expired at midday today while another status yellow snow and ice warning will come into effect at half past 5 this evening until 9 o'clock tomorrow morning in Mayo and Roscommon.
A similar warning already came into force for Leitrim and Sligo earlier this morning.
A weather advisory will also remain in place until Friday.
