Gardai have confirmed that following a search and recovery operation in Carrick on Shannon, a body of a man was recovered from the water yesterday.
It's believed the search has been underway since Christmas.
The body of the man has been taken to Sligo University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
A file will be prepared for the Coroner.
