Ireland's medicine shortage is set to get worse as pharmacists have been warned it could be months before some prescription medication will be back on chemists' shelves.
The Irish Mail on Sunday reports that Dr Una Fallon, a public health specialist in the Midlands, sent a memo to health professionals, saying some vital medicines will not be available to patients for the foreseeable future.
Dr Fallon warned there is 'no expected date of resupply' for one form of penicillin, which is used to treat lung infections and tonsillitis.
