The man who saw that there were no defibrillators on Croagh Patrick last year, and within months ensured that they are there now, is the 2022 Mayo Person of the Year, and that’s Darren Forde of Hollymount.
The annual prestigious awards are organised by the Mayo Association in Dublin.
The Meitheal award 2022 has gone to Kilmeena GAA club, a club that secured an All Ireland Football title last year.
A panel of three independent adjudicators decided on the winners in both categories.
