The current situation in Irish hospitals has exceeded the HSE’s most pessimistic modelling.
That’s according to its Interim CEO Stephen Mulveany, who says despite the number of people waiting on trolleys beginning to decrease, there are still significant patient safety concerns.
He told a media briefing influenza is still on the rise, with HSE Chief Clinical Officer Colm Henry stating we have to yet to reach the peak of the winter flu.
