A national day of protest is to take place outside hospitals across Ireland on Saturday week, January 21st.
Organisers of the action, Aontu, say the objective of the demonstrations are to put pressure on the government to address the current crisis in the hospital sector.
2022 saw the worst overcrowding in hospitals nationwide since records began.
Paul Lawless is a member of Aontu in Mayo and he says the protest action outside Mayo University Hospital will get underway at 1pm on Saturday week.
