Sligo/ Leitrim road policing unit detected a car speeding at 171kph in 100kph zone during extremely wet road conditions yesterday.

The car was stopped by the Gardai and the driver now face's a court appearance.

Gardai are reminding driver's to slow down, saying – “speed kills and don't be another statistic".
