322,000 euro has been announced today to support local community and voluntary groups in Mayo with their energy bills.

Fine Gael deputy Alan Dillon says its part a new €10 million government fund, The Community Support Fund, that’s providing small grants to a wide and diverse range of local community groups to assist with their running costs.

Funding will be available to support Parish Halls, Community Centres, Local Development Associations, Social Clubs, ICA Groups, Senior Citizen Groups, Men’s Sheds, Women’s Sheds and much more.

The Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) will administer the fund at local level and deputy Dillon is encouraging community groups interested in applying to contact their LCDC over the coming days for details.
