The government has announced a major new rural regeneration fund - to target dereliction in landmark buildlings.
115 million euro will go towards transforming old courthouses, schools and churches in 23 counties into modern community hubs.
It'll also see the development of more town parks and outdoor dining areas.
23 towns nationally have secured funding under this fund and they will be announced later this morning.
It’s hoped a number of Mayo towns may be in that mix, two applications have been submitted from Mayo for the funding scheme.
