A butcher shop in Sligo has announced that it is closing next month due to rising electricity and operational costs.
Sherlock Butchers based in the retail outlets in Cartron Village, Ballytivnan, says it will be closing on the 3rd December.
In a post on the shop’s Facebook page, owner George Sherlock states:
It pains us to say that after many years in business, Sherlocks’s in Cartron will be closing our doors on the 3rd of December.
Sadly, due to the rising costs of electricity and operating costs, we are in a state of anguish to close our shop.
We would like to thank each and every customer for your support over the years.
We’ll be business as usual up until then.
There has been a large response to the posting with people paying tribute to George and the business and expressing their sadness at news of the closure.
