Fine Gael Councillor Jarlath Munnelly has welcomed the government announcement of a fund for local authorities to develop serviced sites in towns across Mayo.
This fund will help to provide sites for people who wish to build a house, at affordable prices.
Cllr. Munnelly says that this builds on objectives in the recently adopted Mayo County Development plan, which were proposed by the Fine Gael group, prioritising Mayo County Council to act on this area.
Speaking to Midwest Radio’s News Editor Teresa O’Malley at today’s monthly meeting of Ballina Municipal District Cllr. Munnelly says people will receive a discount of up to €30,000 which he says is encouraging.
